Cut video online, free

Drop a clip, drag the two handles to where the good part starts and ends, and export. The cut is frame-accurate and happens on your device, so a 2 GB phone recording is fine.

Works in Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your video

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV. It opens instantly because nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Set the start and end

Drag the handles on the filmstrip or nudge them with the arrow keys. Press play to check the cut.

  3. 3

    Export and download

One click. The file is ready in seconds and keeps the original resolution.

Questions people ask

Is the cut frame-accurate?

Yes. When the cut starts after the first frame, the video is re-encoded on your device so it begins exactly where you set it, not at the nearest keyframe. A cut that only shortens the end keeps the original stream untouched.

Do you upload my video?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using WebCodecs. Your file stays on your device and we never see it.

Which formats work?

MP4 and MOV with H.264 or HEVC, plus WebM and MKV with VP8, VP9 or AV1. The export is an MP4, or a WebM when the source was WebM.

Are there limits?

Files up to 2 GB. There is no watermark and no account. Speed depends on your device, since the work happens there.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer on desktop and Android. Firefox does not support the video APIs the tool needs yet.
