Questions people ask

Which subtitle formats work?

SRT and WebVTT files, including ones with formatting tags, which are removed. You can also paste the same text straight into the tool.

Can viewers turn these subtitles off?

No. Burned-in subtitles are part of the picture, which is what makes them show on every platform and player. Keep the original video if you also want a version without them.

My subtitles are slightly off. Can I fix that?

Yes. Shift all lines earlier or later in half-second steps until they match, and check by clicking any line to jump to it.

Do you upload my video?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your video and subtitle file stay on your device.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer on desktop and Android. Firefox does not support the video APIs the tool needs yet.
