What is the Discord upload limit?

About 8 MB for free accounts as of 2026, and more with Nitro or on boosted servers. The tool starts at 8 MB so the clip fits everywhere. Limits change, so raise the target if you know your server allows more.

Will a game clip still look good?

A clip of 20 to 30 seconds fits 8 MB at a decent quality. For longer recordings, choose 720p or trim the clip first so the bitrate stays high enough for fast motion.

Should I make a GIF instead?

No. A GIF is much larger than a compressed MP4 of the same clip and looks worse. Discord plays MP4 inline, so compress and post the video.

Do you upload my video?
