Convert a video for TikTok, free

TikTok wants a vertical 9:16 MP4. Drop your clip, the frame is already set to 9:16, drag it over the part you want to keep, and export. The result is an H.264 MP4 at the size TikTok expects, made on your device.

Works in Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your video

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, landscape or portrait. It opens instantly because nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Place the 9:16 frame

The frame is set to TikTok's ratio. Drag it over your subject, zoom if you need to, trim the start and end.

  3. 3

    Export and post

The MP4 is rendered on your device. Upload it to TikTok as it is.

Questions people ask

What format does TikTok want?

A vertical 9:16 video, MP4 with H.264, ideally 1080 by 1920 pixels. That is what this tool exports from a 1080p or larger source.

My video is landscape. Will it look bad?

You choose what stays. Drag the 9:16 frame over the important part instead of letting TikTok pad or crop it for you.

Is there a file size limit?

TikTok accepts large uploads, but if your file is huge, run it through the compressor afterwards. The crop alone keeps the original quality.

Do you upload my video?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file stays on your device.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer on desktop and Android. Firefox does not support the video APIs the tool needs yet.
