Resize a video for TikTok, free

TikTok is vertical. A landscape recording posted as it is shows small with black bars above and below. Drop your clip and the 9:16 frame is already selected. Drag it over the subject, zoom in if you want, and export.

Works in Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer. Nothing is uploaded.

    Drop your video

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV. It opens instantly because nothing is uploaded.

    Place the 9:16 frame

The vertical frame is selected. Drag it over the part of the picture you want, and use zoom to fill the frame.

  3. 3

The crop is applied on your device at the original pixel size of the region you chose.

Questions people ask

What size does TikTok use?

9:16, which is 1080 by 1920 pixels for a full HD upload. The tool keeps the pixels inside your frame, so a 1080p landscape clip gives a 608 by 1080 vertical video, and a 4K clip gives 1215 by 2160.

Can I turn a horizontal video vertical?

Yes. That is what the 9:16 preset does. Drag the frame over the subject. For a wide shot with two people, trim the clip into two parts and crop each one differently.

Does cropping reduce quality?

The pixels inside the frame are kept at their original size and re-encoded once at high quality. TikTok compresses the upload again, so start from a clean file.

Do you upload my video?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file stays on your device until you post it yourself.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge and Safari 17 or newer on desktop and Android. Firefox does not support the video APIs the tool needs yet.
